This policy explains what The Idea Verdict collects, how the service uses it, when it is shared, and how users can make privacy requests.

Effective date: July 1, 2026

Overview

The Idea Verdict helps founders submit startup ideas and receive structured feedback from reviewers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices you have.

By using the service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

How we use information

We use information only for legitimate product, security, legal, and operational purposes.

  • Create and manage accounts.
  • Authenticate users through email/password and Google sign-in.
  • Display founder ideas to eligible reviewers after moderation.
  • Collect, score, summarize, and show reviewer feedback to founders.
  • Maintain reviewer onboarding, reviewer points, trust signals, and abuse prevention.
  • Moderate ideas, enforce the Terms, prevent spam, protect users, and investigate misuse.
  • Debug, monitor, secure, improve, and operate the service.
  • Respond to support, privacy, legal, and deletion requests.
  • Comply with applicable law, court orders, and lawful government requests.

Public and shared content

Founder ideas may be visible to reviewers once approved. Reviewer feedback may be visible to the founder who submitted the idea and to authorized moderators or administrators. Do not submit confidential information, trade secrets, patent-sensitive disclosures, private customer data, or information you are not allowed to share.

The service is designed for early validation, not secure confidential disclosure. Treat submissions as shared product research content.

Cookies and authentication

We use cookies and similar storage that are necessary to keep you signed in, maintain sessions, protect the service, and route authentication callbacks. We do not use cookies to sell personal information.

If you disable necessary cookies, account features may not work.

Service providers

We use third-party providers to host, authenticate, store, secure, and operate the service. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to us.

  • Supabase for authentication, database, session handling, and related infrastructure.
  • Google for Google sign-in when you choose that option.
  • Vercel for hosting, deployments, serverless execution, logs, edge delivery, and platform security.
  • PostgreSQL infrastructure used through Supabase for application data storage.

When we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only in the following limited cases.

  • With service providers that help operate the product.
  • With founders, reviewers, and moderators as needed for the core feedback workflow.
  • With a future acquirer, investor, or successor if the service is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or asset transfer, subject to appropriate confidentiality or data protection commitments.
  • When required by law, subpoena, court order, lawful government request, or to protect rights, safety, security, and integrity.
  • With your direction or consent.

Retention

We retain account, idea, reviewer, and feedback information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain audit and moderation records, resolve disputes, enforce the Terms, comply with legal obligations, and protect the service.

If you request deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal information where reasonably possible unless we need to retain it for legal, security, fraud prevention, backup, dispute, or legitimate operational reasons. Some content may remain in de-identified, aggregated, backup, or audit form.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including provider-managed authentication, secure session cookies, access controls, and hosted infrastructure protections. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to appeal a decision we make about a privacy request.

To make a request, contact legal@theideaverdict.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on the request.

California and similar US privacy rights

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly used in US state privacy laws. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide required choices.

California and other US state residents may request access, correction, deletion, portability, and information about categories of personal information collected, disclosed, and retained, subject to legal exceptions.

International users

The service may be operated from, hosted in, and supported from countries other than where you live. By using the service, you understand that your information may be processed in those locations, where laws may differ from your local laws.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the updated policy.
